Current Status: the November Edition

On Instagram yesterday, @seejavaciawrite shared a great writing prompt of “currently.” There are so many ways I could write about this word and the ideas it brings up, but I’m going to simplify it for everyone’s sanity.

Currently: Leisure

Listening: Friends, Pistol Annies came out with a new album and I.can’t.stop.listening.to.it. Interstate Gospel is a snappy yet honest album about breaking up, getting back together, and everything in between. The song I can’t stop listening to is Best Years of My Life a song that pointedly tackles so many emotions, thoughts, and frustrations about life.

Reading: Because it seems like my TBR list is never ending, I’m currently not reading anything. But I’m eagerly waiting for my Book of the Month selection which is Liane Moriarty’s Nine Perfect StrangersBig Little Lies is still my all-time favorite novel of hers, but Truly, Madly, Guilty wasn’t great. Fingers crossed for something better.

Watching: True to form, I’m starting a series only a year after it’s finished it’s prime time run. Bones is my latest TV must watch (right after the Great British Bake-Off). Emily Deschanel is by far the superior Deschanel sister and shines as Dr. Temperence Brennan, a forensic pathologist, and socially unaware human being. The chemistry of the whole cast is a delight. I love some of the science behind the bones and the intricacies of the cases the writers created. For the most part, it’s an easy watch.

Currently: Business

Planning: for 2019. As I mentioned on Instagram yesterday, I’ve got some big projects coming up in 2019 for clients. But I’ve also got some writing opportunities and goals that I have plans for in the new year. So I’m upping my professional presence with a Facebook page and a few other things down the road. I’m excited, scared, and nervous.  If you feel like you want to connect on Facebook, I’d love to see you there!

Making: spreadsheets. I mean, it’s not the sexiest job in the world. But I’ve come to appreciate the power of the spreadsheet. What’s more, my clients seem to love them too. Data, planning, tabs… it’s like an online TrapperKeeper. You’re welcome.

Loving: stretching some of my more creative muscles. Writing, baking, photos… I’m trying new things, different things. Learning how I can express myself in ways that I haven’t tried before is so fun! Sometimes the results aren’t what I want, but everything is a fabulous learning experience.

If you had to fill out something for these 6 categories today, what would be on your list? I’d love to know what’s current in your life!

  1. Bones is in my TV series top 5. It doesn’t disappoint. I didn’t find any of the many seasons at all lacking. Totally binge-able. Enjoy!
